Nothing new regarding Marketing but I would love to hear some stories about great April Fool's Day pranks! I know everyone has them so share...maybe you will give someone a good idea.
I will start with a good one. I have a friend from college that got married to a Naval Academy grad and moved around a lot right after school. They settled in Maryland and when she found out that she was pregnant we all were excited for them. The next April Fool's day several of her friends got calls from her husband saying that they had just had a baby boy. Of course we all thought it was a joke being April 1st. We all played it off as a joke not wanting to seem like we were fooled. A few days later we tried to call and check up on her and found out she actually did have the baby on April 1st...we actually fooled ourselves!
Okay so not a great story but something interesting to kick things off.

My husband told me this one this morning...
Put a Post-It note on the bottom of someone's mouse. The mouse won't work, and most people don't think to look on the bottom of the mouse to solve the problem.
Our admin assistant (copy guy, distributes the mail, faxes, keeps the printers loaded with paper, etc.) asked me this morning to type him up a letter of resignation to hand to our office manager. In the letter he asked me to type that his resignation was effective immediately, that he was leaving at noon and needed someone to help him pack up his things (that's usually what he's asked to do). Obviously, I didn't want to be part of his prank, so I didn't save the document on our doc management system. Two hours later, I asked him if he turned in his letter. He told me that when he gave the letter to the office administrator, she got up, shut the door to her office, picked up the phone and called the senior partner into her office. At that point he had no choice but to tell her April Fools, just to prevent the main partner from catching wind of the prank and then being "released" from his duties! It was fun.
String one of your co-workers paper clips together. When he/she attempts to take one clips, the whole string will follow! It's fun to watch!
My attorney is moving to a new office on another floor next month. He has spent the last several weeks opining over what kind of wall paper, carpet and chair coverings to get. He finally made a decision on the chairs last week. Today I told him the firm has decided to make all the offices uniform, so they are covering all the chairs in the same fabric. I showed him a swatch of a hideous purple, pink and orange floral print and told him the chairs had already been ordered. He was MAD! He called the head of our facilities department (who was in on it). He was just about to call the interior designer when I finally told him it was an April Fool's joke. Fortunately, he laughed. Now he is helping us pull the same prank on another attorney in our firm.
I had a friend in school that her father actually proposed to her mother on April 1st. He always insisted that it was an April Fools joke and she took him serious!
My daughter got me good yesterday, so I just have to share...
I had loaned her my library card to check out some books for a report she is doing for school. She called me from the library and said they wouldn't let her check out the books because I had an $87 fine. The last time I used the card was before we moved over a year ago, so I immediately started thinking of where in the world those books must be at this point. I kept asking her if she was sure it wasn't $8.70, and she insisted it was $87. When I asked to speak to the library clerk, she said, "April Fools!"
